Be honest with yourself

You have four options. We're only one of them.

You're already comparing us to Wix and a $200 freelancer. So here's the comparison, written straight — including where you should not hire us.

DIY builder
Wix, Squarespace
Cheap freelancer
Fiverr, Upwork
SiteLift Full agency
WebFX, Hook
Cost $17–$49/mo

$200–$2,000 $350–$12,500 $12,000–$35,000+
Who does the work You. All of it. Someone you'll never speak to again Us. You email, we answer. An account manager, then a junior
Can ChatGPT read it? Usually not. Builder sites are JavaScript — AI sees a blank page Nobody checked Yes — and we prove it Usually, yes
Email set up so invoices don't go to spam Your problem Almost never Included Usually
Accessibility (ADA lawsuit risk) Your problem Almost never Checked and fixed Yes, at a price
Somebody to call in 8 months A support queue They're gone Yes Yes, on a retainer
Long contract? Monthly, forever No No. Cancel with 30 days. Often a 12-month lock-in
Will they even take you? Anyone Anyone Anyone Many won't touch you under $3M revenue
When you should NOT hire us: if you have the time and the taste to build it yourself, Wix or Squarespace is a genuinely good answer and we'll tell you so. If you just need a cheap one-page brochure and nothing else, a freelancer will do it for less. And if you're a $50M company needing a 200-page rebuild, hire a real agency — we're not the right call. We'd rather send you somewhere better than take money you didn't need to spend.

Tell us your business first

The questions adapt to your kind of business — a groomer and a restaurant don't get the same form. Different business, different questions, different quote.

It doesn't change your price. We just need to know who you're competing with locally.
Wait — what's the difference between the $995 Starter and the $3,750 one-page site? They're both one page.

Fair question, and the honest answer is: the number of pages isn't what you're paying for. Both are one page. What changes is who does the thinking.

Starter — $995
Get online and look legitimate.
  • You bring the words and photos. We lay them out properly.
  • Built on a layout that already works — not designed from scratch.
  • Up to five sections: who you are, what you do, prices, reviews, how to reach you.
  • Contact form, tap-to-call, map, works on a phone.
  • One round of changes.
  • Live in about a week.
Right for you if: you're starting out, you know what you want to say, and you need to exist online by next week.
One-page site — $3,750
Be the one they choose.
  • We write it with you. This is most of the difference in price — the words are the hard part, and they're what actually sells.
  • Designed for your business from a blank page. It won't look like anyone else's.
  • As many sections as your story needs.
  • Booking, enquiry routing, Google setup, speed and search groundwork.
  • Three rounds of changes.
  • Three to four weeks.
Right for you if: people are comparing you to someone else before they call, and the website has to win that comparison.

And the part most agencies won't tell you: if you've already written your own copy and you have decent photos, the Starter is genuinely enough. Take it, get trading, and come back for the bigger one when the business is paying for it. You can upgrade later and we credit what you already paid.

It says “ongoing” — what does that actually mean, and how long before anything happens?

Straight answer: months, not days. SEO is not a switch we flip. It's the work of becoming the business Google shows when someone searches for what you sell. Here's exactly what happens and when — so you can hold us to it.

Months 1–3The foundation

Most of the work happens now, and you'll see the least. We fix what's broken technically, claim and properly fill in your Google Business Profile, build a separate page for each service you offer, get your name/address/phone consistent everywhere, and start the review engine.

Honest expectation: don't judge us on sales yet. Judge us on whether the foundations are actually built — we'll show you. Your Google profile can start pulling calls in weeks, though. That part is fast.

Months 4–6The first fair test

Pages for the towns you serve. Content that answers what your customers actually type. Steady new reviews. The first real local links. And we start making the traffic convert — the phone number impossible to miss, forms that work.

This is the honest go/no-go point. Six months in, you should see real, measurable growth. If you don't, we'll tell you, and we'll tell you why — and if it isn't working for your business, we'll say that too.

Months 7–9Competing

Now we look at whoever is above you and work out what they have that you don't. Deeper content, better links, and re-optimising the pages sitting just outside the top — those are the cheapest wins available.

Months 10–12Compounding

The work shifts from building to widening the gap and defending it. This is where it starts paying back, because the pages have had time to age and Google trusts them more.

Why time matters, with the real numbers: the average page sitting at #1 in Google is five years old, and 73% of everything in the top 10 is over three years old (Ahrefs, 2025, from a crawl of over a million pages). Google's own John Mueller says it takes “half a year to a year to really see the full impact.” Anyone who tells you 30 days is selling you something.

If you stop, you keep this
  • Every technical fix, and your site speed.
  • Your Google Business Profile, set up properly.
  • The pages we built. The reviews you earned. The links you earned.
Your website does not fall off Google if you stop paying us. Any agency telling you it will is frightening you into a renewal.
But this part goes stale
  • Reviews. Most people specifically look for reviews from the last three months. A review profile decays on its own.
  • Fresh content and new links — while your competitors keep going.
You don't fall off. You stand still, in a race where everyone else is still running.

And the thing we'd rather tell you now than have you find out later: if you're in a quiet trade in a small town with no aggressive competitors, you may not need a monthly plan at all. Build the foundation once, keep the reviews coming, and you're done. Google says the same thing — small local businesses can do much of this themselves. We'd rather tell you that and lose the $600 a month than take it and have you resent us.

Four things we will never say to you, no matter how much you want to hear them: that we can guarantee you the #1 spot (Google explicitly tells you to be suspicious of anyone who does) · that we have a special relationship with Google (nobody does) · that we can guarantee a date your rankings will move · or that we'll “boost your reviews” — buying or incentivising reviews has been a federal offence since October 2024, carrying penalties up to $51,744 per review, and we will not put you anywhere near that.

3 · Anything else? — optional

You don't need a website to buy any of these. Just want SEO, or your Google profile sorted? Tick it and skip the rest — set "What do you need?" above to "I already have a site" and the quote is just this.

About

Straight talk: SiteLift is new.

We're not going to show you a wall of client logos, because we'd have to invent them — and inventing testimonials isn't just tacky, it's illegal under FTC rules. So we won't insult you with fake five-star reviews from people who don't exist.

Here's what we'll give you instead: you see your design before you pay the final invoice. The price you're quoted is the price on the invoice. Your domain and hosting sit in your name from day one, and the finished site transfers to you in writing on final payment — so if we ever let you down, you walk away with everything and hire someone else.

You email us, you get a real answer — usually within the hour. No ticket queues, no being handed around.

We have to earn a reputation somewhere. It starts with you, which is exactly why we'll work harder on your site than a firm with 400 clients ever would.

Where we work

We're based in Durham, North Carolina, and we work with small businesses anywhere in the United States. Most of this job is done over email, screen-shares and a phone call — your website doesn't care what state we're standing in, and neither should you.

If you're in the Triangle — Durham, Raleigh, Chapel Hill, Cary — we'll come and sit across a table from you. That's a real offer, not a marketing line.

What you won't find on this site is a list of forty cities we've never set foot in, each with its own near-identical page. Agencies do that to game search engines. It tells you nothing true about whether we can build you a good website.

Judge us on this instead
